guitarspiration

Sometimes something totally not related gets me excited about motorcycles.  This makes me want to build another bike.  If you were to build a motorcycle and only had these pictures to go by, could you do it?  The Gibson Thunderhorse Explorer.   Dethklok's signature model.

and then you see it.  And I think that Brian Harlow's new scoot, Orion's Belt, nailed it already:

fine, at the very least, it makes me want to play more guitar.

2 Up

got this great E&S Saddelry seat to try out on the bike for even more comfy rides.  Still looks a bit too wide and might just get sent off to the masters of seat manipulation, the Haifley Bros to take a full inch out of the width of the pan and foam, especially towards the rear section up the fender.

Jason didn't look sold either way on the seat.  I think that he was just as bummed that it was "class night" at the shop so we couldn't make our usual noise.

Brooklyn Half

Saturday morning was spent waking up way too early and then running the BK Half Marathon.  Beat my last time by over 7 minutes.

Finished in 1:53:09, which is an average of 8:33/mile.

Ended the race in proper fashion.  Immediately changed shirts as the orange one was ripping my nipples off by the end of the race.  OH, and with some fruit, a bagel, chocolate milk, oh and 32 oz Coors Lights.

thanks to the dudes and ladies that came out and supported.

NYC Tuesday Night !

If you're alive and in the city, you should be at The Great Frog on Tuesday night.  Photography by Cicero Deguzman Jr.  Yes, Godspeed 45/06 himself!

Looking forward to catching up, enjoying a beverage or two and enjoying one of those nights where NYC is the place to be.  Come out and support the scene.  Or check out something new.  Buy some jewelry, I don't care....just be there.  (I promise I did not mean all of those rhymes in there...super corny, but I'm leaving it).

same old, but so much more

it is sooooo close to being done.  sort of.  Tins re-mounted, slight bend in the top of the sissy, everything else in the drivetrain reassembled, and I even ran new brake lines since this pic was taken.  And welded passenger peg mounts onto the frame rather than using the clamps that always seem to spun.  And installed a Crane Hi-4 and a new low ohm coil.  But alas, motor main seal still leaking (no worries, I have extra seals, some liquid sealant and a new spacer) and the bike wouldn't start.  I'm going to take 5 days away from it.  Then, its back to figuring it out.  probably a simple wiring thing.  and if worse comes to worse, Walter and/or Mike are getting a call.

I need a better pic of it all, but I'll wait until its actually a working motorcycle and not a 500 lb paperweight.

The Afghan Whigs

I go in and out of loving this band. Always have and always will. When I'm slightly depressed to very depressed, keep them away from me. When my mood is bright and good and happy, their dark tone is great. Today was a cloudy morning but a good one and they complemented my coffee perfectly.

Sir Distortsalot

awesome distortion pedal from S.I.B.

The Sir Distortsalot was made in suuuuuper limited production and was the precursor to his Barracuda distortion pedal.  It has a 12AX7 preamp tube inside the pedal and runs on 9 volt power.  This pedal has tons of gain and the tone controls give you freedom to dial any sound in.

$250 obo

He needs to go to a good home.  This pedal deserves to be used much more than I have been in the last year or so.  It is ripping!!!!
